About Menai Track and Field

First set up in 2000, Menai Track and Field has now more than 200 members. The club has gone from strength to strength

We compete as a team in the Youth Development League, The Cheshire League, Welsh Under 15 League (Track and Field) as well as the North Wales Cross Country League (Junior and Senior). Individuals also take part in open track and field meetings, road and fell races.

The club boasts many athletes who have represented either regionally for North Wales or internationally for Welsh Schools, Welsh Athletics and GB at cross country, road, track and field, and the mountains.

All ages are catered for from as young as 5 to 12 years old in our newly formed Menai Academy on a Friday Night 5:30 to 7pm.

The Junior section covers ages 9 to 15 and the Senior sections everyone else.

Menai Track and Field is one of the Fastest growing clubs in Wales.

Training Session

Menai Track and Field train regularly throughout the year, usually at our track at Treborth Athletics Track.

Menai Academy caters for 5 to 12 year olds and train Friday Nights from 5:30 to 7pm

Junior Groups (9 to 15 years) and Older Groups normal training nights are Mondays and Wednesdays 6.30 pm to 8.00 pm.

All ages welcome from 5 upwards at the newly started Menai Academy on a Friday night and from 9 upwards on Monday and Wednesdays.

The club has a very busy junior section and an ever growing senior section.

Activities:
For the younger ones these are dependant on the number of coaches and athletes but normally include sprinting and endurance, then depending on the weather, hurdling, jumping and throwing. There are also specific groups for the stronger and more experienced sprint, throws and endurance athletes.

We have an all weather 400m track at Treborth, Bangor – which is our base.
