Massive Congratulations to Samia Jones, crossing the finish line 21 seconds ahead of 2nd place athlete Pippa Carcas of Scotland to become British and Irish U17Girls Mountain Running Champion yesterday on he slopes of Camaderry Mountain in Glendalough, Ireland.

Mike Spill took 2ndplace on the podium in the U17Boys race.

A total of 5 athletes from Menai represented Wales. U17Girls Samia Jones 1st.  U17 Boys Mike Spill 2nd, Daniel Stones 15th, Cai La Trobe Roberts 18th. U20Boys Cedol Dafydd 21st.

England u15 / u17 Championships at Bedford & Welsh Inter Regional Championships at Brecon

England u15 / u17 Championships – Bedford – Saturday 25th & Sunday 26th August

Menai sprinter Zach Price finished 5th in the u17 men’s 100m with a new lifetime best of 10.82 seconds.

Middle distance U15Girl Samia Jones  made the podium and took silver at the England u15/ u17 Championships in Bedford last weekend. Samia finished just 500th of a second behind Edinburgh’s Katie Johnson in the u15 girls’ 1,500m as she finished in a time of 4:33

Congratulations to both showing the best of Menai and Wales at the highest level in the British Isles.

Samia Jones, Brett Parkinson & Cai La Trobe Roberts did themselves proud at SIAB

Samia, Brett & Cai La Trobe represented Wales at SIAB last Saturday at Grangemouth Stadium, Scotland.

Samia Jones ran as an U17 in her 1500 race  in a time of 4:37.13 to Podium in 2nd position to the English and UK No.1 Emily Williams, to come home with a Silver medal.

In his first year as aU17 Athlete and first time in a Welsh Vest, Brett Parkinson threw a credible javelin 42.53 to galvanise a strong 6th position.

Cai La Trobe Roberts also first year athlete at U17, ran in the 1500m Steeple Chase to finish 6th in what was a strongly competed race.

Awesome performance by 19 year old Ryan Cain, who ran the Snowdon Race in 1:25:09 and finishes in 31st place in Category

Well done to Ryan Cain, who was the only Menai Track and Field athlete to run this years Snowdon Mountain Race . Ryan, only turned 19 last month and ran a superb race, mixing it with Seniors and International Runners alike, reaching halfway in 00:26:38, the top in less than an hour in 00:58:50 and crossing the finish line in 31st position in the Senior Male Open Category in a time of 01:25:09.
